Finding 01

Premium acceleration is slowing.

QoQ growth peaked at +2.1% in Q3 2024 and has decelerated to +1.3% in Q2 2026 — the lowest reading in 8 quarters. Carriers are absorbing rate adequacy improvements rather than passing them through.

Finding 02

EV gap continues to narrow.

The EV vs. ICE premium gap narrowed from 23.4% in Q2 2025 to 18.2% in Q2 2026. Repair-cost normalization and specialist-shop growth account for ~70% of the closure.

Finding 03

Telematics adoption hits 31%.

Among new policies issued in Q2 2026, 31.4% included a telematics enrollment — up from 24.1% YoY. State Farm and Progressive drove the largest share gains.
