Methodology & editorial standards.
AutoInsureWire is an editorial publication, not a sales channel. Every article is sourced, fact-checked, and edited before publication. It is not licensed insurance advice.
How we source
Our editorial team monitors a curated list of primary insurance publishers (Insurance Journal, Insurance Business Magazine US, InsuranceNewsNet, Coverager), state Department of Insurance bulletins, NAIC filings, NICB releases, and federal/state court dockets. We do not publish content sourced from carrier press releases without independent corroboration.
How we fact-check
Every numeric claim — premium averages, percent changes, statute citations — is verified against a primary source. Tables are tagged with a 'Last verified' date and a link to the canonical source (NAIC, state DOI, SERFF filing, court docket). Statements about carrier behavior are checked against current rate filings and J.D. Power claims-satisfaction surveys.
How we edit
Every article gets a second editorial read before publication: claims are checked against the cited sources, rate figures and state requirements are verified, and additional sourcing or rewrites can be requested. We do not claim our content constitutes licensed professional advice.
How we handle corrections
Material errors are corrected within 24 hours of confirmation. Corrections are logged publicly at /corrections/ with the original text, corrected text, and a one-line note on the change. Cosmetic edits (typos, grammar) are not logged. Major reporting errors trigger a 'Major correction' flag at the top of the article in addition to the log entry.
How we handle attribution
When AutoInsureWire summarizes reporting from another publisher, the publisher is named in the byline, in a dedicated attribution box near the top of the article, and again at the end with an outbound link. We do not republish full text from other publishers; we link out for primary reporting.
How we handle conflicts of interest
AutoInsureWire is independent. We do not sell insurance and we are not licensed to bind coverage. We receive referral compensation from www.midenmi.com when readers click 'Compare Quotes' and complete a quote — that relationship is disclosed in every article. No editorial content is influenced by referral economics.
